ABOUT DERMFOLL
We breakdown scientific research to give clarity to our readers. Along with knowledge to make the most informed skincare and haircare choices. We also provide healthcare professionals with reviews. And insights on the latest software and tools. Helping the medical fraternity enhance their practice and patient care.
With years of research experience in the skincare device space, I founded Dermfoll initially to support a close family member in their hair transplant and cosmetology journey, while also helping them establish a stronger presence online.
Though I am not a dermatologist, my medical background provides me with the knowledge and discipline to research this field extensively.
Through Dermfoll, I aim to bridge the gap between advanced clinical insights and accessible, at-home skincare guidance.

our mission
Dermfoll exists to take the fear and confusion out of choosing an at-home skincare device. From RF skin tightening wands and LED masks to microcurrent and EMS tools, we explain what these technologies actually do in your skin – without the marketing buzzwords.
Our goal is simple: give you clear, evidence-based guidance so you can decide whether an at-home option is right for your skin type, your concerns, and your medical history. That includes questions about at home skincare devices, at home skin tightening devices, and how they compare to in-clinic skin tightening procedures in terms of results, risks, and overall skin tightening cost.
Who we are
Dermfoll is created by a small, nerdy team living at the intersection of dermatology, skin science, and at-home tech. We spend our time reading clinical papers, device manuals, safety data and user reports so you don’t have to trawl through research at midnight.
Our content is built around the real questions people ask about RF machines, LED masks, microcurrent devices, TEWL (transepidermal water loss), and skin barrier health. We pay particular attention to concerns like melasma, rosacea and post-inflammatory hyperpigmentation (PIH), where the wrong skincare device or the wrong settings can backfire, especially in medium-deep and deep tones.
We also look at how consumer-level skin tightening equipment and in-clinic face skin tightening treatment options differ, and when a simple routine or targeted skin tightening products may be a better fit than more hardware.
How we create and review content
Every guide on Dermfoll starts with a specific problem: fine lines, loss of firmness, redness, uneven tone, texture changes, or a fragile skin barrier. From there, we look at how different at home skincare devices and at home skin tightening devices might help, and where they can make things worse.
We prioritise three pillars when we build each article:
Published studies on RF, LED and microcurrent in dermatology and aesthetic medicine
Safety data across Fitzpatrick skin types, with extra focus on darker tones and pigmentation risk
Real-world experience from people actually using devices at home, not just brand claims
When research is limited, we say that clearly. If a trend in skin tightening procedures or a new device is mostly driven by marketing, we call that out too. You’ll see this approach throughout our guides, for example, in our RF skin tightening explainers and LED light therapy overviews.
Who Dermfoll is for
Dermfoll is for anyone who wants to make smarter, calmer decisions about at-home treatments – and avoid the regret that often follows an impulse purchase.
It’s for people wondering if an RF facial device could stand in for clinic-based face skin tightening treatment. For those comparing red and blue LED for acne, pigmentation or early ageing. For anyone trying to protect their skin barrier while experimenting with skincare devices and deciding whether skin tightening cost is better spent on in-clinic work, skin tightening products, or at home skin tightening devices.
It’s also for busy humans who don’t want fluff, just clear explanations, realistic expectations, and step-by-step aftercare and safety checklists. We don’t sell quick fixes. We explain what a device can realistically do, what it can’t, and when leaving something on the shelf is actually the safest option.

How to use our guides
Think of Dermfoll as your research starting point before buying or using any new skincare device.
Start with the overview of a treatment, RF, LED, microcurrent, EMS, microneedling and more. Then:
Read the “who should avoid this” and “risks” sections before you fall in love with the marketing
Compare features, safety limits and use-cases, not just before-and-after photos
Notice how a device fits alongside your existing routine and any in-clinic skin tightening procedures
Take your notes and questions to your own dermatologist or medical provider
Combining our structured, evidence-based information with personalised medical advice is the safest way to build a routine with at home skincare devices, whether you’re exploring LED masks or more advanced skin tightening equipment.
